Update on COVID-19 Outbreak

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak and in the interest of keeping the community and our staff as safe and healthy as possible, all WPAS offices (Mercer Island, Gladstone, Anchorage, Spokane) will be closed for walk-in services effective March 17, 2020.  WPAS will only be conducting business via phone, email, or fax.  If you need to bring documentation or information to the office, there are drop boxes available at each of our office locations.  Contact information can be found here.

Temporary Plan Changes Due to COVID-19

Effective March 1, 2020 and until the COVID-19 emergency orders are lifted, the Health Plan will cover telephonic or other virtual care visits subject to the annual deductible and coinsurance benefits. To be covered, the real-time interactive telephone or audio/video consultation (telehealth/telemedicine) must focus on diagnosis and treatment via a live discussion or video exchange with ongoing participation by the patient and the provider throughout the visit.

For telephone or audio/video visits related to COVID-19, the Plan will reimburse at 100% of the allowed amount. COVID-19 treatment is subject to the annual deductible and coinsurance provisions of the Plan.

Telemedicine Service
The Board of Trustees has added a new benefit starting April 15, 2020 that provides telephone or video access to a doctor through Aetna’s Teladoc program.  Please watch your mail for more information coming soon!
